About the role
The role of Junior iOS Developer is to work on a number of app development projects for a variety of clients. You will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery according to the agreed project specification. The role includes project testing and providing user support. Training, mentoring and supervision will be provided.
Key duties and responsibilities
Development
- Developing iOS apps in Objective-C
- Developing usable application interfaces and testing these with users
- Developing for other platforms in Java / HTML as required
Project testing
- Involvement in hands-on project testing
Project delivery
- Ensuring that the technical delivery of projects is completed on time, on budget and to a high quality
- Keeping the Project Manager informed of project status and progress
General
- Working towards continuous improvement and focussing on efficient processes and procedures
- Actively seeking and communicating ways to improve project delivery
User support
- Providing second-line user support by email for client projects as required

Experience and Qualifications Required
The ideal candidate will be a strong Developer with proven experience and should possess a genuine passion for their work. They will be educated to degree level or equivalent.
Experience of the following is desirable -
- iPhone and iPad app development
- Experience with the iOS platform
- Xcode (from use on iOS or Apple Mac related development work)
- Objective-C (including ability to optimise coding to address challenges such as memory management issues)
- Cocoa Touch
- Object Oriented Design (OOD) and application architecture
- Knowledge of Apple's "Human Interface Guidelines" for iOS apps
- Code optimisation and debugging skills
- Software version control systems (Git)
- Design and Photoshop skills
- SQL
- OpenGL ES
- Core Animation
- Android development
- XHTML, CSS, JavaScript
- XML / XPath / xQuery
Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
This role is subject to a three-month probationary period.
Salary
£16,000 - £20,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
