About the role
The role of Mobile App Developer is to work on a number of app development projects for a variety of clients. You will be responsible for ensuring timely delivery according to the agreed project specification. You will be expected to keep abreast of the latest technical developments, and investigate other mobile platforms with a view to enabling Agant to broaden the scope of its current operations.
Key duties and responsibilities
Technical Project Lead
- Leading the development and technical direction of individual projects
Development
- Developing complex iOS apps in Objective-C
- Developing usable application interfaces and testing these with users
Research and development
- Keeping Agant appraised of technical developments, feeding into Agant's overall strategy to spot business opportunities and stay ahead of competitors
- Investigating emerging mobile platforms and cross-platform development
Client meetings
- Representing Agant's development team in client meetings as required
Estimation
- Providing development time estimates for client proposals
Quality
- Suggesting and implementing appropriate technical systems for the management of projects
- Anticipating potential project risks and taking timely actions to minimise their impact
Project testing
- Planning and managing the beta-testing of projects with users
Project delivery
- Ensuring that the technical delivery of projects is completed on time, on budget and to a high quality
- Keeping the Project Manager informed of project status and progress

Experience and Qualifications Required
The ideal candidate will be a strong developer with proven experience and should possess a genuine passion for their work. Specific experience of mobile app development is not essential.
Experience of the following is desirable -
- iPhone and iPad app development
- Xcode (from use on iOS or Apple Mac related development work)
- Objective-C
- Object Oriented Design (OOD) and application architecture
- Knowledge of Apple's "Human Interface Guidelines" for iOS apps
- Code optimisation and debugging skills
- Memory leak detection and performance optimisation
- Software version control systems (Git)
- Design and Photoshop skills
- SQL
- Experience with Android development
- XHTML, CSS, JavaScript
- XML / XPath / xQuery
