Why does 'UK Train Times' no longer use the National Rail logo on its icon?
Agant's UK Train Times app has used the National Rail logo on its icon (shown to the right) since the app launched in March 2009. Our use of the National Rail logo was agreed as part of our license with ATOC (the Association of Train Operating Companies), who run National Rail Enquiries, and who provide the live data feeds that power UK Train Times.
We were contacted by ATOC in February 2012, asking us to end the use of the National Rail logo on our icon "to avoid confusion on the App Stores". We have therefore decided to change our app's icon, as we are keen to continue using the ATOC data feeds in order to keep UK Train Times on the App Store.
The new icon (shown to the right) is now live on the App Store. The app is still fully-licensed to use ATOC's data feeds, and still has the same great features. The new version is a free update for all existing users.
